1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Better Practice website, mobile app, and services. Better Practice Consulting Inc. ("Better Practice," "we," "us") provides accounting, tax compliance, and related administrative services exclusively for doctors and medical practitioners in the Philippines. Better Practice Consulting Inc. (trading as "Better Practice") is a corporation registered in the Philippines under SEC registration number 2023030089116-00, with its principal office at Unit 304, PPI Building 355, EDSA corner General Tirona Street, Bagong Barrio, Barangay 138, Balintawak, Caloocan City, National Capital Region 1400. By subscribing or using our services you agree to these terms.
2. Our services
Depending on your plan, our services include BIR registration and registration updates, preparation and filing of quarterly and annual tax returns, bookkeeping from documents you provide, processing of related career paperwork such as PRC renewal and PhilHealth accreditation, and the services listed in our services catalog. Where a government fee applies, you pay it at cost and we provide the official receipt. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
3. Eligibility and the Start Smart starter package
Our services are for licensed doctors and medical practitioners in the Philippines, and for those about to begin practice. The Start Smart starter package (worth up to thirty thousand pesos) is available to doctors new to practice: newly licensed doctors opening their first practice, and doctors fresh from residency or fellowship setting up their own clinic for the first time. Doctors who are already registered instead receive their first six months of tax filing free. These introductory offers are limited to one per doctor, and cannot be combined with other offers, transferred, resold, or claimed more than once. We may verify eligibility, and we may decline, withdraw, or reclaim the value of an offer where it is claimed through inaccurate information, duplicate sign-ups, or other misuse.
4. Your responsibilities
Our work depends on the completeness and truthfulness of what you give us. You are responsible for providing accurate information and documents on time, including receipts, certificates of withholding (Form 2307), and notices you receive from government agencies. Filings prepared from incomplete or inaccurate information you provided remain your responsibility.
5. The accuracy guarantee
If a penalty results from an error we made in a filing we prepared, we pay that penalty. This guarantee covers our own errors. It does not cover penalties arising from late, incomplete, or inaccurate information you provided, from instructions you gave against our advice, or from periods before you engaged us. The guarantee applies to filings we prepare for you, whether you are on a paid subscription or on the Start Smart starter package, for as long as we are engaged to handle that filing.
6. Fees, billing, and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed per filing cycle: four quarterly cycles and one annual cycle per year, at the rates published on our pricing page. Promotional inclusions such as the Start Smart starter package and free filing months are as described at the time of sign-up. You may cancel at any time; upon cancellation we return your documents and you retain your registration, books, and records. Fees already billed for completed work are not refunded.
7. The mobile app
The app is provided for subscribers to submit documents, track income, and approve filings. You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for access you grant to staff such as your secretary.
8. Guides and educational content
The guides, articles, e-books, and other educational material on this site are general information for Philippine doctors. They are not tax, accounting, or legal advice for your specific situation, and reading them does not create a client relationship with Better Practice. Tax rules and figures change, and each guide is current only as of the date shown on it. For advice on your own circumstances, engage us or another qualified professional.
9. Intellectual property
The Better Practice name, logo, the Smart Doctor Series marks, and the content of this site, including our guides and e-books, are our property. Guides and e-books are for your personal use and may be shared unmodified; they may not be resold or rebranded.
10. Limitation of liability
Except for the accuracy guarantee above, our total liability for any claim arising from the services is limited to the fees you paid for the filing cycle in which the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified through the app or by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and disputes shall be brought before the proper courts of Caloocan City.
