Common questions
My hospital withholds tax from my pay. Do I really need to register?
Yes. Withholding means the BIR already has income filed against your TIN, and it expects returns from you. Registering correctly now is far less costly than regularizing later with penalties attached.
What happens when I finish training?
You move up to File Smart at the practicing rate. Your registration, records, and accountant carry over, so there's nothing to set up again and no gap in your filings.
My co-residents and I want to sign up together. Anything for groups?
Yes. Some training institutions have special arrangements with us. Ask us about your hospital, or introduce us to your chief resident.
I haven't filed anything since I got my TIN. Am I in trouble?
Possibly, but the picture is usually better than doctors fear. We'll assess your TIN for free, tell you exactly where you stand, and lay out the clearest path to getting current.
